Virtual Sandtray was created to provide a creative, expansive,
projective, portable tool to allow clients to create their world (s) in
therapeutic sessions both in person and remoté, utilizing the
powerful, projective technique of sand therapies.
The idea for Virtual Sandtray came after the 2011 Töhoku Tsunami in
Japan. A plea for materials from Dr. Akiko Ohnogi led to a main
question: how can one provide a portable version of sandtray to help
in these types of situations? After years of planning, research, and
consultation with industry experts, the first commercial sales
occurred in the end of 2015. With fundamental sand therapy tenets
built into the foundation, expansions and features have been added
over time to meet client and clinician needs, particularly in response
to COVID-19. We were here before COVID-19 and will continue to
serve you after.
